Two Killed In Accidents Near Denver
Two men died in separate highway crashes north of Denver and a Kansas man died from injuries in a crash near Ordway. Robert H. Morton, 66, of Denver, was killed when his car left US Highway 2 and overturned on US 35. Wright, 18, of Thornton died when his car struck a guard post on the Valley Highway exit. Jack L. Weight, 18, also of Thornton, was injured in that collision. Theodore Podill, 38, of Leoti, Kansas, died in Rocky Ford hospital after a pickup swerved off the highway near Ordway and hit a bridge support. Hans Tomson of Leon was injured but recovering. The deaths raise Colorado’s 1982 traffic toll to 419.
