Miss Marjory B Major, a welfare nurse in Alaska, found the Tikehie tribe living in a temporary village after influenza decimated them. They suffered malnutrition and could not gather food, with a 12 year old interpreter helping convey that she was human. The tribe, described as hardy yet primitive, wore fibre sewn skins, bone knives, and wooden drums.

Cotton Fields May Produce Cellulose at UNC
A UNC chemistry program led by Dr. Frank A. Cameron aims to convert cotton plants into cellulose on a 10 acre plot. Predicted 1932 cellulose cost is two cents per pound, versus five cents for cotton.
