Nervy pilot crashed plane into highway tunnel
Pilot Frite Hansen 33 of Cheyenne deviated from control on a Denver ride and steered a powerless Cessna 172 into the west entrance of two mountain tunnels along US 6 near Denver. The plane hit power lines, skidded through, and halted mid tunnel. Passenger Walter Johnson 47 of Aurora was injured. both escaped unhurt in the crash.
