Woodcraft Women Turn Regalia into Quilts for Lodge

Colorado and Southern Railroad to connect Cheyenne lines soon
The Colorado and Southern Railroad plans a Cheyenne connection between its Wellington to Cheyenne line and the existing Cheyenne to Orin Junction route. Three surveys from Wellington, Greeley and midway between them were considered to find the best grade. Officials have not set a start date though a decision within weeks is likely. The line will boost ore traffic from Wyoming mines to Pueblo steel works and carry additional freight.

Prisoners Removed as County Jail Fumigates for Smallpox
All prisoners from the county jail were moved to the city jail this morning under Deputy Sheriff Peterson and Frazier so the county facility could be fumigated for smallpox. Jesus Vargas, a Mexican captured west of Fort Collins, was moved to the pest house after contracting the disease. he escaped but is now confined there. No new smallpox cases have appeared in the jail, and officials hope the outbreak is controlled. The prisoners are expected to return to the county jail tomorrow night.
