Abandoned Steel Rail Removed for Hangar Construction

City workers removed an abandoned steel rail along Seventh Avenue from Beventh Street to Tenth Street. The rail, once covered by oil mat surface, will be reused in the hangar at the city airport. Over Half of Lambs On Feed Shipped Out

In Weld county and surrounding feedlots, 767 head of lambs were shipped out this week, representing 68.6 percent of all lambs on feed. Shipments to Denver totaled 137 head, with 77 sent there this week. Last year 40.2 percent had been shipped.

Beet Acreage Moves Higher In Twin Districts

Last Friday night beet production showed an uptick with 10 394 acres affected by beet growth in the Greeley and Eaton factory districts. In the adjacent firms yields ran about 20 percent above last year when 18 000 acres were cultivated across two districts. Estimated combined beet output for the season ranges between 29 000 and 24 600 in the two districts. Much seed was being saved by growers Monday. About 30 percent of growers are removing magmented seed.
