Electric Storm Damages Town and Rural Telephones
A Thursday night storm with heavy rain and lightning damaged telephones across town and nearby areas. A line near Archie Fleming farm split poles and damaged the Fleming house line while an east town tree was badly splintered. Country lines suffered enough to force a several hour current shutoff for repairs. Temperatures in September have run unusually high, aiding late pastures and wheat land growth as corn matures well near Maitendne.
