Raymond Stowell and family of Chambers Nebraska visit at the home of his parents Charley Stowell and wife presenting a family gathering scene with local ties.
Mrs Emma Felton of Council Bluffs came last Thursday to visit her friend Mrs Albert Parks. Mrs Laura Kent attended the meeting of the General Assembly of the Rebekah Lodge at Des Moines last week.

A county wide institute for church school workers will be held in the Christian church Monday November. It will be an all day meeting with Walter Hutter general secretary of the state Council of Christian Education as leader. Ladies will provide noon coffee and table service, delegates urged to bring sandwiches and a potluck dinner dish.
Mrs Hattie Livingston of Clarinda won the high bid at public auction for the 159 acre farm six miles northeast of here, properties tied to the Richardson estate, with sale completed in the late afternoon.

Rev A J Bissinger and church members attended the Creston district conference with Bishop Miller of South America delivering two addresses. Names suggested to assist the pastor include Lewis Morley J S Francis Oliver Lock Mrs Elmer Dutton and Harriett Woodyard. A brief session for these persons is planned after Sunday services. The county wide Sunday School Institute will be held Monday at the Christian church inviting Gravity teachers and officers to attend and set ideal goals.
A Royal Neighbors meeting announced for Tuesday has been postponed. In other news, an eight pound baby boy was born this morning to Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Reed.
A school news brief notes freshmen in general science examining heat distribution. It also mentions three one act plays Friday evening, upcoming Hallowe en party for 7th and 8th grades, several students with perfect spelling or geography scores, grade activities, birthdays, and lists of top students by grade and 6 weeks.
W. W. Chandler with Joanna and Mary Jane of Des Moines drove down Saturday and returned Sunday accompanied by Mrs. Chandler who had visited relatives here. They were joined from Des Moines by Miss Katherine Killebrew and Roy Mohrman.
Mrs Elmer Brown travels today by way of Corning to visit her daughter Mrs Lloyd Tysdal and family in Lewistown Montana.
Mr and Mrs Kent Wallace and Sterling drove to Lincoln Nebraska Saturday and visited with Gordon.
California visitor Miss Gwendolyn Journey spent the weekend with the Ray Walker family in New Market enjoying sightseeing and social visits.
Lewis Morley and wife and Harry Morley and family drove to the home of Ray Porter and family near Lorimer Sunday where they spent the day.
Jim Nielsen and his family from Fontanelle visited Saturday at the home of his brother Andy Nielsen and family, sharing time and memories during the weekend gathering.
Miss Leoma Walker arrives from Des Moines and travels with Rev. Bissinger his wife and Miss Floy Madden. They will spend a few days in Des Moines before returning today.
