Qak Hill Oscar Cerven was summoned to St Joe Missouri Thursday to be with his son Dale who remains hospitalized after an operation for appendicitis and a subsequent surgery to remove a pus pocket. Dale’s condition improves and his mother stays nearby in St Joe while relatives visit and assist.
Two Waubonsie tournament games were held with Gravity defeating Nodaway 9 to 1 and Blockton beating Sharpsburg 7 to 0. A Gravity 9 to 0 win over Conway followed on Thursday due to bad weather. Senior picnic planned at Bibbins Park in Bedford. menus include Weiners marshmallows buns mustard. Junior and Sophomore reports cover class activities tests and field trips with spelling 100s and poetry writing.

Horace Beemer and the Farrens family visited their mother Mrs Russell Farrens in St Joe Missouri. Faithe and Lee stayed with both parents while Kenneth and Keith returned home with Mrs Beemer who had traveled with her parents on Saturday.
Chas Alvord and his wife traveled Thursday on a business trip to Clarinda Jagt, making a brief visit likely for work or commerce and returning the same day.
Don Weil and Bonnie Wycoff drove to Omaha on Sunday where Miss Wycoff will enroll in a Beauty Culture course.
The D M C club ladies and their husbands enjoyed a September dinner party hosted by Mr and Mrs C C Hill at the Hill home on Friday evening.
Saturday guests at Mr and Mrs Perry Williams included Mr and Mrs Lloyd Humphrey and their Creston son, J B Willey and Bennett Shelton from Mr Ayr, and Mr and Mrs James Black from St Joseph Missouri visiting in a social gathering.
