Miss Lorene Stafford and Merritt Triggs wed in a Sunday ceremony conducted by Rev. Harold A. Reel. The reception followed in the church basement with roses, a three tier cake, and a short wedding trip. The bride, a Gravity native and teacher in Mount Ayr, and the groom, a local farmer, plan to reside on his farm north of Mount Ayr. Out of town guests included Stafford and Thelma of Gravity, and several others from Clarinda Des Moines Guthrie Center and Hepburn.
Mr and Mrs Glenn Savage and Doris traveled to Omaha for the marriage of Evelyn Marie Savage to Ralph O. Smith of Omaha Nebr at Salem Lutheran church. Evelyn wore a white linen suit with a shoulder length veil and red rose corsage. Maids of honor wore aqua with gardenia corsages. The couple plans a home at 4516 Larimore St Omaha after a Denver honeymoon. Ralph Smith, an Omaha resident with Union Pacific, served three years in the navy.
