Pearl Nelson announces candidacy for re election as Clerk of the District Court of Taylor County Iowa on the Democratic ticket. She states intent to compete in the June 1934 primary and urges voters to support her.
County records announces run for County Recorder under Republican primary. Also seeks nomination for County Attorney under Democratic primary and runs for member of the Board of Supervisors subject to Democratic voters in the June Primary. Dates noted: term begins 1935 and 1936. signer James H. Daugherty and Nelle Thomas.
John S. Reece announces his candidacy for the office of County Auditor, subject to the will of Democratic voters in the county during the June Primary.

It is reported definitely now that Iowa has approved thirty state airports with several more locations under consideration. The ones approved at this time located in this section of the state are said to be Clarinda, Creston, Mt. Ayr, and Sidney.

Western Association of Railway Executives chair H G Taylor reports presidents of Western railroads met at Union League club and extended the reduced passenger fares for four months to September 30. The plan sets 2 cents per mile one way in coaches and 3 cents for sleepers, with various round trip limits, and aims for a uniform nationwide basis after consulting East and South committees.

John Burton and his wife from St Joseph Missouri arrived Saturday and spent Sunday afternoon visiting at the home of B C Stearns.
Farmers and gardeners have used the spring days to work in fields and gardens. Early potatoes were laid Friday and Saturday and many farmers are busy planting small grain and grass seed. The acres out of production are being put to grass and require more work this year than is common.

Ex-soldiers will receive 75 percent of the former pension and government workers gain a 5 percent salary raise. The budget rises by about 228 million dollars. Welfare legislation for veterans proves hard to block.
Guy Barton and his wife of Stock ton Missouri arrived to live with C. W. Barton northwest of here for the summer. It is eight years since his last visit. He grew up near Cot tage Grove and will be remembered by many readers of this paper. They will reside at the Baeton Home during the season and assist with farm work.
Leoma Walker and Helen and Howard Madden visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Madden near Hawleyville, sharing a social call and companionship.
The ladies of the Christian church plan a meeting in the church basement on April eighteenth at 2 30 PM with Mrs Geo Depew and helpers in charge.
Mrs Jennie Alexander has sold the Judson Beemer residence in southeast Gravity to Frank Houchin. Houchin plans improvements and will move from the farm to town for their permanent home.
Former Grove township resident Mrs. M. G. Gilmore died Tuesday in LeRoy Kansas. Funeral services were conducted Thursday. Her daughters Mrs. M. R. Tuttle of New Market and Mrs. W. R. Smith of Sharpsburg attended the service and returned home early in the week.
