Geologists and engineers who inspected the Oregon Montana company oil show south and east of the Winnett well signed for a 40 acre lease from Will and Tom Boyd for 2500 dollars. The no. 28 Star rig is set to drill with a plan to reach production or a thorough test soon.
On Sunday September 11 Walker and Grant will spud in the first well on the Boniface structure 13 miles southeast of Forest Grove. The Sure nuf Development association with Twin States Petroleum and Walker and Grant plans a public barbecue and program with brief addresses by E. K. Cheadle and W. V. Grant. Walter C. Boniface will preside over the culinary department. Other events to be announced.
A large cable was hauled to the Golden West Development Company well in Black Butte structure by Duggan Transfer of Lewistown. Brug Bros. Oil Company drills at 1950 feet while the drill bit rests atop the quadrant sands and operators expect rapid progress with new equipment.
