First Montana oil well shows paraffin base oil
Samples from the Van Duzen well near Roundup Montana indicate a distinct paraffin base with a specific gravity of 32 degrees Baume. Wyoming experts say oil flowing at the casing is possibly higher quality fuel oil than Elk Basin and Grass Creek. The well began November 6 1919 in Devil's Basin 18 miles from Roundup. Roundup expects further positive news soon.

New Star Rig for Van Duzen To Drill Dexil Basin Hold
A. Schapiro secretary treasurer of Van Duzen Oil Co announces a new Star drilling rig is en route from Bad to Roujidup to develop the Dexil Basin holdings this winter. If weather stays favorable, work on a new hole will start soon and run through winter. The top discovery well remains unmoved for now. Two storage tanks 500 and 250 barrel capacity are arriving from Wyoming as the first batch, with larger tanks unavailable for some time.
