TWO NEW WELLS IN CAT CREEK

Homestake No 4 in 10-15-29 struck last Monday at 1320 feet producing 250 barrels daily. Shafer Oil & Refining Co. on Fradd tract also brought in this week with 300 barrels, in section 9-15-29 at 1320 feet. Field now has 48 producing wells.

Cash Soldier Bonus Meets Opposition

The United States Chamber of Commerce opposes a cash bonus for service men arguing the war created a $1,135 mortgage on every family and a bonus would add to the burden. It backs national legislation for hospitalization rehabilitation and pathways for veterans to farm, build homes or gain vocational training. The group notes government already authorized $1,500,000 for relief and $900,000,000 for war risk insurance.

Helena man Prouty sentence affirmed by supreme court

Helena June 20 The sit court today affirmed the sentence of Arthur D Prouty an insurance agent of Helena and Butte convicted in 1919 of an attempted criminal assault upon a Helena girl Prouty is to serve 10 to 20 years The court also affirmed death sentences for Steve Byrne Chronopulos convicted in killing H J Prenatt in Montana supreme court action.
