Death of H. I. Slack Pioneer Farmer Passes
H I Slack a well known farmer from the Judith Basin and father of Ray Slack died after gall stones surgery in Sokane hospital last Monday. He moved from Canada to Brown county South Dakota in the sixties, later selling holdings in the Judith Basin and moving to Wenatchee Washington where he resided until his death at about sixty. Fred Hedge took Ray to Lewistown then to Aberdeen for burial.

The emergency feed rate to Montana Wyoming and North Dakota is half the normal charge from serving lines. Cottonseed products are excluded from the half rate but may ship from Texas Oklahoma Arkansas and Louisiana at 50 to 60 cents per hundred. A round trip cattle rate allows outward shipment at regular fare with return at one third before June 1 1920. Transit rates extend to 12 months and apply to cattle hogs and horses. Bureau offices will be set in Billings Montana and St Paul to assist owners with pasture and feed and to distribute animals. The Markets Bureau will provide feed reporting across the line.
