Farmers should cut grain for hay and feed due to drought risks. While the hay crop is fair, prepare for winter by ensuring stock feeding options, including dairy cows and butter fat production if grain fails. Diversify crops as grain markets are uncertain and some households may rely on hog feed from unsold crops.
Accompanying John Slater, F F Miles and the writer toured Slater Bros ranch six miles NW of town to inspect winter wheat. The 640 acre holdings include 210 acres in wheat with 132 winter and 78 spring. fields show good yield potential and no winter kill. They plan harvesting this week and expanding with 120 new acres plus stock and timber assets.
The J H Esehman World United Shows came to Grass Range with a weak performance. Critics found merit lacking in animals, talent, and clowns while praising only the large clean tent. Attendance was low, tickets were given away, and the reviewer doubts the circus will return or be advertised by the Review.
Owing to the large drafted men list, Grass Range names are printed to fit. About 1,006 will be called in within a few days. The first 1,006 drawn must report within five days after notice, the second third in six days, and the last third in seven days. Exemption claims follow examination.

The Washington conscription lottery drew attention in Grass Range with many registering in June. Exemptions will cover physical unfitness occupations and dependents. The piece urges willing service, praises patriotism and promises laurels for those who serve, while acknowledging sacrifices across Montana.
