The Fergus County Food Price Board met July 9 at the office of County Food Administrator A A Franzke to set fair consumer prices for commodities. Farm Bureau Organized Across Fergus County
A Fergus county Farm Bureau was organized at the high school gym in Lewistown last Friday. Theodore Hogeland of Deerfield was named president with B L Thompson of Benchland as vice president, H P Gramley of Lewistown as secretary and treasurer, plus a committee of local farmers handling weeds, sanitation, home problems, conservation, 4H clubs, livestock and labor. The bureau operates under the U S Department of Agriculture, working with the state college of agriculture and experiment station, and is run by county farmers. The county agent coordinates ties among the bureau, college, experiment stations, and national agriculture department. The organization emphasizes farmer cooperation, community betterment, and food preservation without political aims.

Quintin Roosevelt Downs First German Plane Over Marne
Lieut. Quentin Roosevelt youngest son of ex President Roosevelt, shot down a German aircraft north of Chateau Thierry while leading a flight. After misidentifying two German planes as allies, he opened fire, forcing the nearest plane into a 2000 yard spin and dive, then escaped unharmed with his aircraft intact.
