A committee of Stanford and Hobson men filed a petition in Lewistown to form Judith Basin County from parts of Fergus Cascade and Chateau counties. The petition lists 2 046 names from Fergus 481 from Cascade and 10 from Chateau totaling 2 537. A hearing is scheduled July 25 at 2 00 p m. If sufficient the board of commissioners must call an election at least three months after the hearing.
