Judge Briscoe awards Lamont one third land stake

Judge Briscoe announces a decision in the case of Harry W. Lamont against Ole G. Winger and others. Lamont, born Aug 10 1891, sought one third of a Grass Range 240 acre tract and rents. The court, ruling within the statutory time, will sign a decree granting Lamont a one third interest in the land.

Ladies Aid Society Meeting Sets August Elections

The Ladies Aid Society met at Mrs. Shierson's home on Thursday afternoon. Attendance was higher with better advertising anticipated. The group voted to end the business year with the Conference year and to elect officers at the first August meeting after a vacation. Church shades have been purchased and will be installed. A lunch was served and attendees enjoyed the afternoon.

Tragedy in Lewistown as man Kills Wife Then Self

In Lewistown a man named T H Ross shot and killed his wife, mortally wounded a 15 year old girl named Enid Melton, and then killed himself in the Day House kitchen just before noon on Tuesday. The shooting, blamed on jealousy, ended a weeklong quarrel. The girl died at St Joseph's hospital at 8 45 p m Tuesday night. Ross ran an ice cream parlor in the Day House.

Amos Snyder, visiting with Mrs. Snyder and Mrs. Cobbey and children, returned from a trip to the National Park via Billings and Roundup. He has lived in Montana almost 40 years and says crops are best on irrigated land. He notes seven to eight states including Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, western North and South Dakota, eastern Washington and Oregon affected, and predicts he can ship cattle through winter due to water and hay.
