Five Years of Dry Land Farming Proves Viable

W. E. Adams of Ringling Montana recounts five years of dry land farming with no crop failure starting 1919. He details yields in 1921 from Turkey Red wheat 411½ and 52 bushels per acre on summer fallowed land and oats and barley with high outputs, plus methods like summer fallowing, cross harrowing, and discing to conserve moisture and control weeds. May Have Slayer of Holman Named

Jack Davis, a well known local figure, is believed by officers to be the man who fired the fatal shot that killed Dell Holman early Saturday. Davis and three other suspects have been jailed for several days and may remain. Investigators say they know the case details and expect the remaining accomplice to appear when appropriate. Coroner’s inquest and Dr J C Dunn testimony corroborate Holman’s claim the shooter wore green clothing and a moss colored shirt was found wrapped around the recovered gun.
