Church in Montana’s Little Rockies Houses Italian Mural Masterpieces
In the Little Rockies fifty miles from a railway, St. Paul’s Mission church and school, founded 1886 by Rev Father Erbischweiler, features murals by a celebrated Italian master. The remote complex, built of dressed stone, includes church, sisters’ home, dormitory, and parsonage. The school, run by Ursuline Sisters, serves about two hundred students with agriculture and religious instruction.
