Beaver trapper turned Caspar rancher gains vast holdings
The V-V ranch near Caspar Wyoming grew from a boyhood trapping quest started with six beaver traps and a sack of flour. B B Brooks, once a beaver trapper with partner Black Jack, built a large empire: 8000 acres deeded, 20000 leased, 15000 sheep, 4000 cattle, 40–50 workers, alfalfa and wheat operations, and even oil and banking interests, all rooted in frontier lore.
