Burglary waves hit Van Zandt County Homes and Shops
Van Zandt County sheriff reports eight thefts last week across residences and outbuildings. Victims include W Gregg Hill in Dallas area reporting items from a 1974 Chevrolet truck to a TV VCR combo and firearms, Elsa Robles Leon at Wills Point, and Craig Emerick in Eustace with multiple guns. The Grand Saline Police Department reports two arrests in the past week. Samantha Lee Benton aged 34 of 1003 N Spring Sr was arrested May 3 on two forgery of financial instrument counts in Rains County and transported to Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office after apprehension at a Grand Saline location. Ronald Lane Rhodes of 605 W Garland was arrested May 1 on theft charged between 1500 and 20000 dollars and taken to the VICSO.
