County flooded by heavy rains
After nearly three years of rain shortages Van Zandt County was drenched in torrential rains last week. Beginning late Wednesday night heavy rain swelled streams and damaged roads and bridges including U S Highway 80 and State Highway 19. Grand Saline residents were stranded and local businesses suffered. repairs may take about eight weeks to complete across precincts.
