Manager Joe Bolin praised veteran and new workers, noted a 12,000 sack corn yield, and said the season's tomato output surpassed last year with 53,707 ten pound lugs packed. A new tomato grading machine sped handling by about 20 percent.

Grand Saline Rodeo to Kick Off After 10 Year Hiatus
Grand Saline hosts its first rodeo in over a decade on August 23 to 25 with nightly 8 p.m. shows by McHood and Smith of Fort Worth. A downtown parade opens the festivities on Aug 23 and a second parade closes the event on Aug 25. The new arena south of the overhead bridge seats more than 2 000 fans and is highlighted by modern facilities.
