Grand Latino Public Schools joins statewide Texas Public Schools Week March 3 to 7 inviting parents to visit classrooms and join in meals. Strange Cattle Deaths Shock Van Zandt County
Van Zandt County authorities investigated two suspected cattle mutilations on the R A Stepp farm near Highway 64 and I 20 and on the Letha Hazel Reed place near Highway 19. A grown cow and a 380 pound heifer were found dead with body parts removed, footprints noted, and helicopters reportedly seen nearby.

FFA Awards Highlight Grand Saline Banquet

County Commissioners Hear Grievance Committee Report
In regular session Monday the county grievance committee reported findings. The panel, meeting Feb 17, unanimously raised salaries for Justice of the Peace Willie Rodgers and R G Martin to 200 dollars monthly, while C B Wiley’s pay remains 10.83 dollars monthly. A Texas Water Quality Board notice sets a public hearing in Austin March 13 at 9 AM to amend the unit and determine required federal pollution control action.
