Grand Saline began collecting city sales tax in late 1970. First full year receipts were 26888.13, rising to 41374.17 in 1975. Comptroller Bob Bullock notes broad increases across 780 cities, with inflation partly responsible and some towns showing larger gains than others. Nearby towns show varied percentages while Van and Canton lack a sales tax.

Ex-Student Basketball Game Planned by Indian Sports Boosters
Indian Sports Boosters met to sponsor an ex student basketball game on February 28 at 7 p.m. at the high school gym coached by Johnny Pryor William Neal Henry Knight and Fernando Maciel.
