City Laying News In Water Line On High Street
City water department crews began laying a new six inch water line on High Street to replace an old two inch main. Mayor Carl King announced the project, costing about $2000, extending three blocks from Zande Street eastward. About 12 families will be served as crews tie in. Completion is expected this week with North High Street customers served first. Plans call for extending the line nine more blocks to Houston Street early next year to connect with an existing six inch line for improved service citywide.
