Grand Jury reindicts Shipp on capital murder charges
Van Zandt County Grand Jury met August 11 and returned 24 indictments including Ronald Glyn Shipp of Canton on capital murder and attempted capital murder related to the October 15 1993 abduction of Sheila Prater, the deaths of her mother Wendy Landreth and aunt Charleen Clem, and a location on FM 2909 south of Canton. A venue hearing is set for September 6 ahead of a September 12 trial. Other indictments include Andrew Mark Harris aggravated assault, Charles Grebe Jr. aggravated assault, Roerick Autry sexual assault, Donny Bateman driving while intoxicated, Travis Tindall possession of a controlled substance, Jason McClure burglary of a vehicle, and Ronnie Patrick theft.

Summer trip to Hungary changes life for GS youth
Lance Jones son of a church minister spent a month in Hungary on Awe Star a Baptist Foreign Mission Board project. He and other young missionaries performed a Christian drama in Budapest and Debrecen engaging crowds and sharing testimonies with Hungarian translators. The trip broadened his view of faith saying he saw how big God is and noted Hungarians hunger to know Him.
