Death of Neal Brown at Watkins NY aged 61
Neal Brown of Wausau died in Watkins New York on Tuesday at age 61 after a summer illness. A prominent state political figure though not pursuing a full political career he held firm views yet never imposed them on others. An outdoorsman hunter and fisherman he impressed people with his sincerity and was well known to local sportsmen. Funeral arrangements are not yet known but are expected soon.

Burial brought for Henry Podawiltz in military service
Henry Podawiltz, a United States Army member stationed in Honolulu, died in a motorcycle accident on August 4. The remains were brought home Monday and the funeral held at the Ragan parlors. Survived by four sisters, Mrs. Charles Eberhardt, Mrs. P. St hrle, Mrs. Howard James, and Mrs. Toe Nevilly. A promotion event is planned for September 20 at the Sreeke Sunday.

Ed Reimer Arrested for Jail Fire Attempt
Ed Reimer was arrested last week on a charge of furnishing liquor to Indians. He was found guilty, fined 25 dollars, and jailed 20 days, with 60 more days in county jail if unpaid. A mattress fire in the jail caused smoke and a later blaze in the insane ward, but both fires were extinguished without major damage. Reimer, who claimed they had no right to lock him up, survived near suffocation during removal from the jail ell. He had a prior allegation of trying to fire the calaboose years ago while confined there.
