Citizens show interest in forming a Humane Society branch but little progress has been made. Some believe a female society should take initiative, with many willing to join and potential support from Uribung to back such an organization.

A large city crowd drove to Nekoosa last Friday to watch a basketball game against local boys, the Nekoosa team winning 12 to 20.
