The piece then shifts to J Pierpont Morgan’s hotel encounter with a belligerent porter who tests the banker’s identity before a terse conclusion: that’s the best that got. Also noted are mummified heads of Louisi indians found on Andean slopes near Quito, scarce and shrunk by a secret process, from nine or ten inches to about five inches, with heads preserved without destroying features.
