Town and Village Elections Nomination Rules Adopted

A 1923 act updates town and village election rules with caucus nomination or ten percent petition methods. It sets ballot printing standards, candidate listing, and blank spaces, plus filing deadlines and cost coverage by each town or village. The measure takes effect on passage.

Birthday party honors Evelyn Ingraham completes five years

New Rome birthday party for Evelyn Ingraham age five at the Ingrahams home honored by 25 neighbors and friends. Decorations included pink and white crape paper, a flower basket center, candy baskets, and a five candle birthday cake. Supper by Dyolyn’s grandmother, phonograph music and games, dancing to close. Also notes on local residents’ activities and health updates.

Mrs. Martin Bates of near Grand Rapids visits her parents Mr and Mrs M S Winegarden along with Louis Wollert Israel Jaro Ed Hertz and Martin Carlson attending the school convention at Friendship Friday. Ingar Severson spent Saturday and Sunday at J Wolcott s. Earl Richmyer works for Tarael and helps gather wood. Bill Burhite saws wood for farmers in the area. Charles Brown works at Biron this winter. Rob Reid and wife visited Friendship Friday. Howard Brown moved into the oil J Worthing place for the winter. Gladys Potts finished a term at Oak Ridge for two months vacation and will teach the spring term there.
