A vintage ad claims Sunny Monday laundry soap cuts rubbing effort by half and does most of the work. It works in hot, cold, hard, or soft water, with all waters appearing the same to Sunny Monday, and promises immediate back relief for users.
Wisconsin State Horticultural Notes report a Sturgeon Bay orchard firm planting 670 acres with 260 acres devoted to cherry trees and 26,000 trees already delivered for spring planting. The Reynolds Preserving Co backs the project, planning fancy canned cherries if fresh fruit market lags. Estimates show Wisconsin may plant over 100,000 apple trees and 60,000 cherry trees next spring in orchards of 10 acres or more.
The Wood County Telephone Company met at city hall to approve the year’s business. Manager Snart reported a gain of 81 phones, debt reduced by 1500 dollars, and plans to borrow up to 3000 dollars for future improvements. Talks on selling Nekoosa and Port Edwards exchanges were deferred for one year. Old directors and officers were re elected.
A delivery service announces available wood supply and offers to deliver to any part of the city. Interested customers are advised to telephone the Mackinnon Mtg. Co for arrangements and pricing.
Frank T Primeau and Alfray Lara Atwood were married on Monday at Fred Atwood's home by Justice Pamainville. Attendants were Mrs Edna Edgcomb and George Atwood as bridesmaid and best man. The groom works as a brakeman for the St Paul railroad and they plan to live in Wausan.
At a Tuesday meeting the Grand Rapids Lodge of Elks voted to stage another minstrel show soon. The group aims to surpass last year’s popular event with Arthur P. Mulroy directing the affair. John Kohnen of Rudolph called at the Tribune office on Tuesday.

Tuesday evening January 10 stockholders unanimously re elected the old directors W J Conway W Ellis Edward Lynch Geo W Mead Dn IF Pomainville Earle Pease and IP Witter. The cashier reported assets near 1600000 and annual business over 72 million. Officers named George W Mead president Edward Lynch vice president Harlo Paase cashier A G Miller assistant cashier Henry Deutitz assistant cashier.
The Cranberry Mena held their twenty fourth spatial meeting in Grand Rapids on January 10. President Tuttle of Mather opened the session with growers from multiple towns attending. Officers were elected, speakers discussed station work, fertilizers and berry marketing, and a pumping committee reported water from wells. Prospects for the coming year were reported good.
Manager Daly brings The Genius to his theater next Tuesday evening. Daly has sunk a large guarantee to land the Howard show and must pack the house to justify the deal. A strong crowd is urged as more Howard productions hinge on this success.
The annual meeting of the Wisconsin Cranberry Sales Company is held today at the city hall on the west side. A A Chaney of New York, general manager of the National Fruit Exchange, is here to address the meeting. Most growers who attended yesterday’s cranberry meeting are members of the Sales Company and remained to attend the session.
A compiled list of advertised letters includes names such as Ella Gunder Mary Nantle Rogie and Mary Sorenson along with many others. The ledger shows recipients from Mrs Mabel Lowe Mr James Sorenson and Mr George King among card and gentlemen entries with initials and last names.
The county clerk issued marriage licenses last week from Marshfield. Drake and Ida Hofer of Marshfield obtained licenses, and Corintha M Seidl also received a license as a resident of Marshfield.
Grand Rapids shows a population of 6622, near conservative estimates. Wood County National Bank held its annual meeting Tuesday naming two new directors T J Mullen and Guy Q Babcock, with D B Philleo resigning as assistant cashier Warren GQ Fisher appointed to replace him. The Tribune erred in stating Miss Maude Searls would be the first woman to run for county superintendent in Wood County. A reliable source recalls Mrs. Platt running in 1877 with three men Geo TL Williams Edward Tuyuch and a Mr Mead. Williams won the contest.
The Seneca Sigel and Rudolph Insurance Company members elected officers at their annual meeting. William Jackson and Charles Klovene led as officers with John T. Payal named president and Andrew Fisher serving as treasurer.
Joseph Janickwa arrested after a theft of eight pounds of bread from the Tata South Side mill. He waived examination before Justice Brown, pled guilty in circuit court, and was sentenced by Judge Webb to a $100 fine.
The couple Lemley and Mim Pearl Martin will be married this evening at six o clock at the M E parsonage by Reverend Pause. After the ceremony they will go to housekeeping on Fourth Avenue North.
The Ideal Theatre reopened to the public Monday evening with new management and is expected to run smoothly thereafter. A remnant sale at Johnson and Hill Co. is advertised, and Mrs Hirzy underwent operation in Oshkosh after a period of illness. A Daly's Theatre engagement features Henry Woodruff in The Ganuis with music by Paul Rouben, directed by Cecil DeMille, opening Tuesday January 17, with seats on sale January 12.
