Miss Adeline E Koch of Sigel and Mr Alfred H Weatherer of Lebanon South Dakota were married on February 16 at the bride's home parlor. The Elks Club held a Skat tournament on Tuesday evening. Allen Nelson won first with 13 net games, Otto Roenius took second with 461 points, R. J. Hittell was third with 12 net games, Al Bunde placed fourth with 407 points, and M J Depress won high hand with 100 points.
Harry Hammon of Grand Rapids was arrested Tuesday on a charge of assault and battery. The case before Justice Pomainville ended with Hammon pleading guilty and being fined 310 and costs, totaling 20.650 dollars.
The Elk club noon gatherings shift from Monday to Thursday. Monday was seen as best and Thursday a halfday, but organizers now expect higher turnout on Thursday than any other day of the week.

Mr. and Mrs. Ted Chapman and children attended the funeral of Mrs. FLG Chapman in Stevens Point. Deceased, 70, long resident there, had visited the family here many times and is survived by her husband and nine children.
Prof. C. W. Schwede, who has led the city schools for nine years, has resigned and plans to enroll in a two year psychology course at Chicago University after this school year. He has been connected with the public schools for 14 years and leaves many friends in the city.
