King feast in Wisconsin sparks cake tradition and crowd

Elk to Wisconsin game farm amid conservation push

The state plans to obtain about 60 elk from Yellowstone for the Wisconsin game farm at Trout Lake in Ashland County. A prior Wyoming capture yielded two females after transport difficulties. GC Wagner notes readiness to place the order. funds remain open as the state seeks to bolster wildlife for conservation.

Mrs Jas B Nash entertained a group of ladies at her home Saturday afternoon for Mrs J H Wright. Three tables of bridge were in play with Mrs T W Brazeau winning the high score honor.

Church Services Postponed by January Storm

A January 21 storm prevented church services and the meeting was moved to Sunday February 4 with regular February meeting on the 18th. Services begin at three o'clock and various local residents are noted in daily activities including travel, visits, and work for the Connor company.

Bemiji Visitor Weighs Move to City in Summer

Charles G. Ekelund of Bemidji Minnesota arrived Tuesday to spend a week or more on business matters. He praises Bemidji as a progressive city and says he and Mrs. Ekelund may move back this summer. Mrs. James Gaynor stayed several days at the Commercial Hotel with a bad cold contracted en route amid heavy drifting on the marsh road.
