Chandler Brothers of Rockford Illinois claim he did not remit funds. Nugent admits using goods but says he acted on their directions. Case draws little attention. jury selected without trouble. Proceeding continued into Tuesday afternoon.
Will Diedrich describes a novel check issuing device for check rooms at dances, skating rinks, and similar venues. A simple box locks checks inside, shows issued total, and dispenses one when opened. He claims it costs half as much as a cash register and deters theft. patent likely sought.

John B Grignon longtime city resident died at home after weeks of illness. Born near Nellosa in 1847 he lived in the city most of his life and moved to Winnesonna briefly. He served in the Civil War and is survived by his wife two daughters and seven sons with funeral at St Peter and Paul Catholic church Friday morning at 10 o'clock officiated by Rev William Reding.
The Ens Sida Congregational Society will host its annual sale of fine and useful articles in the sant Wood building on Saturday December 10. The event features hand painted china from Mrs. Prank of Merril, brass and pepper work from the Jorvio Shop of Chicago, plus provisions and home made candy. Sale opens 12:30 p.m. Saturday and runs through the afternoon and evening.
