Omaha Neb Sept 30 condition of Mayor id P Smith injured Sunday during race riot was improved this morning. Military forces augmented by 511 men and 18 officers from Camp Grant Ill with about 300 more from Camp Funston Kans to arrive. General Leonard A Wood in charge of operations. City quiet. soldiers patrolled overnight. 24 negroes in civilian clothes with police badges were found on Twenty fourth and Cummings streets. weapons seized. Separately New Jersey search for a negro who assaulted Mrs Noisy continued with a posse surrounding a swamp. in Alabama Governor Kilby intervened after yesterday’s lynching of three negroes. fourth man Ben Miller wounded. mob actions and arrests discussed by local officials.
