In Weaverville California two bodies were found of miners Max Hoffman and Joseph Fatterson. A coroner's jury ruled Hoffman killed his friend in a dispute then killed himself after seeing Fatterson. Hoffman later shot and killed Rimeck. Also noted is the death of Christopher Price of Du Lac Wisconsin a Civil War Monitor crew member and one of the last survivors never drew a pension.
Captain Edwin P. Thompson acting regimental adjutant of the twentieth United States Infantry died at Fort Bliss base hospital in El Paso after an operation for peritonitis. He was rushed from Camp Fort Bliss. his father Brig. Gen. J Milton Thompson lives in Los Angeles and a brother J W Thompson is an attorney in Salt Lake City.

Twenty killed or wounded in Maracaibo outbreak as citizens tried to stop landing from the steamer Merida. troops fired.
Fort Myers Florida September 29 Hert Alderman and Jim Tucker wanted for robbing the Homestead bank and killing three deputies were hiding on an inland island in Chokolokee Bay when last reported. Authorities expect their capture or death before night. Certain word of their direction came through Frank Rica a bandit guide.
