St Paul Minn September 13 The Dispatch Printing Company maker of the St Paul Dispatch and St Paul Pioneer Press announced purchase of the Itasca Paper Company Grand Rapids Minnesota The Itasca plant has capacity about ten thousand tons per year with three four of that used for the two St Paul papers.
In San Antonio on September 13 Captains J M Walrath and Fred W Laas, quartermasters of the First and Second Illinois regiments, requested return for court martial. They are charged with neglect of duty in handling government property after 50 horses and mules valued at 15000 dollars were lost, per a war department referral by Major General Funston.
Chicago September 13 Miss Alice Paul, chairwoman of the Congressional Union for Woman Suffrage, renewed a statement on the Maine election. She urged Wilson to call a special session to pass a national woman suffrage amendment to avert losses in twelve western states where women vote, noting Democratic defeat in Maine.
