Alcohol not to be shipped to five medicine concerns
Chicago, June 28. Frank W. Sinne prohibition director for the district announced that deliveries of alcohol will be refused as manufacturers of five well known patent medicines. Other proprietary medicines whose makers are alleged to have done large business since prohibition will be added to the list. Mr. Stone sid said his office issued 5,000 permits in Illinois in six months of 1920 to manufacture liter alcohol for patent medicines. He noted some products contained nearly as high a percentage of alcohol as whiskey and several brands have been found by agents for sale to saloons.
