Fargo North Dakota January 17 crowds gathered at Cass County Court House to watch the jury selection for the murder trial of B W Nolan of St Paul a Great Northern detective charged in the Minneapolis Lees murder. Weathered spectators endured sub zero temps as delays by defense chief counsel Francis Murphy held up impaneling the jury until nine thirty this morning.

Washington Jan 17 The emergency tariff bill amended by the finance committee was presented to the Senate today by Senator Pen ac committee chairman who promised every effort to bring it early. The committee member said he would run to formal minority report and allow objections to be developed in debate on the measure, which is expected to be taken up late this week.

Milwaukee January 17 Vasson Kanellos Greek dancer arrested after warrant charging abandonment of a three year old child. Kanellos released on five hundred dollar bond. Cleveland January 17 Doc Johnston organizes a bowling team the Indians with players Grate O Neill Wambegness and Uhle from the world champions.
Government officials estimate over 300000 Poles reside in Russia and plans for their repatriation are under consideration. The Polish foreign affairs ministry urged citizens to contribute toward defraying the government’s costs. Dense weather and storm reports also reference South Wales wheat harvest impacts and agricultural losses in Australia.
The North Dakota Board of Administration will urge the legislature to discontinue four state institutions Mt Mayville Ellendale Wahpeton Bottineau and a state forestry school.
