Police guard cafes as Duracq hunt widens in Los Angeles
Police guarded prominent restaurants last night to capture Dan Duracq of El Paso who threatened to kill his wife and a male companion. Duracq supposedly killed his wife’s father Willard Pardee at a Bell Station home. Pardee lay dead with a bullet through the heart. An accomplice named Charles H. Garnson accompanied Duracq to the Pardee residence, where Duracq demanded his wife and warned he would murder her. Duracq then telephoned a newspaper claiming the plan and identified himself as a professional dancer from Palaces.
