In Chicago, Warren C Spurgin fled city and a Michigan Avenue Trust Company collapse leaves a shortfall of 1,595,495.70 with only 471,126.83 recovered to date. Washington Aug Republicans of the senate privileges and elections committee voted Senator True man H. Newberry Michigan a clear title to his seat. Democratic members opposed. The 4 to 1 vote adopted the subcommittee report that exonerates Newberry on all charges including improper use of large campaign funds.

Crane former US minister to China and four associates have arrived at Reval on their way from China to the United States.
