Caruso Dies After Long Battle With Illness

Birs and Van Wie Found Guilty in Fargo Case

Fargo North Dakota jurors found Birs the president and Van Wie guilty on eight counts. C A Anderson was acquitted and discharged. Judge Paige Morris sentenced Birs to a year and a day and Van Wie to a $1000 fine. Morris said he would recommend Leavenworth to the warden and that Birs belongs in an asylum rather than a pen.
