Italy to dispatch troops to battlefront in France

Furloughs for Men Needed on the Farms

Camp Dodge, Ia April 19. An order from the War Department directs furloughs for enlisted men under first sergeant rank to assist with spring farm work. Division officers will implement the plan, releasing soldiers as soon as possible unless training would be seriously affected or transfers are planned. Applications must be filed by soldiers' parents or relatives through local boards on provided forms. Pay and allowances halt during furlough except for compulsory allotments under war risk insurance and deductions.
