W E Maloney reports from the Standard Mine that the strike is growing in importance with a steady rise in ore quantity and quality. The shaft now yields higher grade ore than three weeks ago and shows increasingly compact, massive ore with at least a big carload available. He predicts the Standard will become a premier mine in the district.
A 1911 letter from New York accuses the bondholders committee led by E F Richardson and Howard A Thornton of deceit in a Penn Wyoming and United Smelters fraud. It details misrepresented stock value, bogus United Smelters existence, and a plan to swap Penn Wyoming shares for worthless stock, with victims organized to resist.
The Penn Wyoming Investors Association declares no intent to deprive Seep Richardson Pennock Cobb or others of rights in the premises. It argues victory will safeguard legitimate interests while a bondholders committee would allow a few to seize the property and deprive many, and asserts the committee cannot win.
W J Collins found guilty of attempted manslaughter in district court for the Rambler crime against David Brennan on May 27. Brennan left crippled for life. Collins claimed self defense but failed to prove it. Sentence not yet pronounced. jurors deliberated about thirty minutes.

W B Fry returned from Chicago reporting the French Creek Irrigation project will begin canal construction by May first with no bonds. German colonists will settle and cultivate land once complete, aiming for 20 000 acres of Platte valley land near Encampment to boost permanent regional prosperity. The canal should be finished by November with settlement planned for next spring.
