A local retailer announces deep discounts to clear stocked merchandise. Men suits from five dollars, overalls from sixty cents, cotton shirting seven cents per yard, 8 oz Georgia duck fabric, ribbed hose eight cents, belts collars combs and neckwear at low prices. Large lace assortment just arrived.
The district court ruled the June 1905 bridge bond election valid and that bonds totaling forty thousand dollars may be issued. The court will forward the record to the attorney general for an opinion on legality before contracts are let. The county plans to reassess construction methods and river piers to endure Brazos conditions. The piece also notes rising automobile fatalities and warns of unsafe driving.
A September 11 gathering at Pastor T E Cannedy home hosted about 60 youths of the B Y P U. Guests answered questions about Ann and geography puzzles, enjoyed piano numbers by Maud McLendon, and were served cream and cake. The event closed with fond recollections of the 1907 social.
The Olney Oracle, Olney town paper edited by S. M. Lamons, appeared last week. Lamons, tied to this paper for two years, produced a creditable issue with town news and solid local content.
