Young County Baptist Association closed last Friday after a three day session centered on Women's Day by the B W M U. Electra district president Mrs E M Frances spoke on Union work as Rev G W Black presided. Officers elected were Black moderator Taylor clerk Oatman treasurer Dickson s corresponding secretary. Delegates praised the meal service and the session adjourned to meet at Loving Baptist Church next year.

Presbyterian Boys Honor Baseball Team Banquet at Capitol Hotel
Presbyterian baseball players enjoyed a big banquet at the Capitol Hotel roof after a strong season. The event included a discussion on the upcoming Sunday School League playoff and Fort Worth’s Class A title chances. Graham Music Club Buys School Pianos for Graham Students
The Graham Music Club announces two Columbia Grafa nolas purchased for Graham schools. They are displayed at Earp Music Co and John F. Morrison Co windows. The universal school type machines are portable for use in multiple rooms. The project aims to improve musical appreciation and memory work in public schools, with Earp donating a dozen per machine. W D Berry field superintendent of the Mistletoe Creameries spoke here urging farmers to raise more cows hogs and other livestock and consume more on the farm to keep fertilizing elements in the land. Paducah man visits town over oil gusher lands
John Gibson of Paducah arrived Monday seeking information about property near Gooseneck bridge on the Brazos, where he owns land close to a new oil gusher. He formerly lived on this side of the Brazos and is interested in his holdings in the vicinity.

Federal and Local Officers Crack Moonshine Network
Federal and local officers from Abilene Wichita Falls and Young County raided hotels in South Bend seizing 500 bottles of Choc 3 gallons wine and 2 gallons corn whiskey plus 46 gallons wine and found a still east of Graham. One man called Slim and two boys were jailed while Sam Washburn was captured then escaped. Washburns home yielded liquor and vessels while the still was moved on Center Ridge Road. Several shots were fired at the Washburn home and his arm was reported wounded. Judge Wilson warned liquor immorality and gambling as crimes to be driven from the county.
