Mrs Winnie Corbett Dies at Local Sanitarium
Mrs Winnie Lee Corbett wife of Roy Corbett of Ivan died last night. She was buried at Oak Grove cemetery at 4 15 this afternoon after funeral services at her brother Rev W E Harrell’s home in west Graham conducted by Rev S D Cook. Born September 24 1898 she joined the Methodist church at age twelve. She married Roy Corbett November 25 1916. The Leader extends sincere sympathy to the grieving husband parents brothers and sisters.

Graham Public School opened on Monday September 10 under favorable conditions despite heavy rainfall. The auditorium was full as students began a nine month term with enthusiasm and a large faculty present except Miss Lucile Miller. The program featured music, prayer, speeches by local officials, and several musical and literary offerings. The piece notes improvements to the building and references future success for the school.

Clint Copeland leaves tomorrow for Bryan to reenter A M College as a senior this year and has been named senior captain. New county students include Chester Prideaux Davis McKinney Oliver Loving and A M Weisenman plus Jim Porter and George Prideaux.
