In district court last week the judge did not decide the case after hearing evidence and arguments in Lowery versus the G T W Ry Co, adjourning at Gra a at 3 pm and leaving for Wichita Falls. Judge Carrigan was due at Archer City Monday morning. Joe Wootton visited homefolks Murray last Saturday.

Rye a Splendid Feed for Stock
W H Corbett, a leading Stephens county farmer, reports success with rye for winter pasture. He says rye yields 12 to 20 bushels per acre and fattening stock better than other grains. Corbett plans to plant rye regularly for higher profits.

Timmons Boy William Dies After Illness
William Timmons thirteen year old son of Mr and Mrs W S Timmons died at the family residence in Medlan Chapel after a three week illness. Burial was held at Medlan Chapel Cemetery Friday evening with Rev Newsome officiating at the grave. The Leader extends condolences to the bereaved family.

Monuments Unveiled at Oak Grove Cemetery by Woodmen Camp
Last Sunday afternoon the Camp of Woodmen with visiting Camps unveiled two monuments in Oak Grove Cemetery for Sovereigns Petty and Shu make. J W Taliaferro presided as Master of Ceremonies. The Graham Firemen's Band and local Woodmen teams led a procession through town. The Graham Camp, near two hundred members strong, continues to grow and contribute to the community as camps from Gooseneck and other county areas attended. In church services Rev Singleton preached on Be Holy and Be Definite, with large Sunday school turnout, new members joining Epworth League, and Communion observed. Rev Royse spoke on The Presence and Call of the Master, with Lord's Supper, and one church addition. Evening sermons covered Repentance, Church Extension, and What is Your Life, with several new members and musical offerings by Miss Pearce and others. Rally Day at the Presbyterian Church posted record Sunday school attendance, and six Sabbath school children joined the church. Christian Endeavor sessions and additional music and papers completed a busy day.

Mrs Ingraham Speaks Here at Fort Worth Meeting
Mrs Nada Ingraham president of the Mc Kinley Chapter Fort Worth and State Regency candidate spoke to locals about the American Womans League. Since her visit five new members joined the Akin Chapter of Graham, bringing total to twelve toward a 2500 dollar chapter house for the town.

Killing at Throckmorton claims Sheriff Spurlock
Sheriff J. G. Spurlock of Throckmorton county died from a gunshot wound sustained while trying to arrest Albert Condron after a Saturday shooting at Overcash wagon yard. Condron and Spurlock exchanged shots. Spurlock was shot in the stomach by W. J. Overcash and died Monday evening. J. D. Falls appointed to fill the term. Spurlock left a wife and baby.
